Glimra Stories is committed to making this website usable by as many people as possible, including parents, educators, and children of varying ages and abilities.

Our target standard

We design and build this site to meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA. That includes:

  • A minimum 3:1 contrast ratio for large text and UI components, and 4.5:1 for body text.
  • A visible focus indicator on every interactive element, sized and colored to remain visible against our palette.
  • Atkinson Hyperlegible as our primary body typeface, designed specifically to improve legibility for readers with low vision.
  • A "Skip to content" link at the top of every page for keyboard and screen-reader users.
  • Semantic HTML landmarks (header, nav, main, footer) and descriptive alt text on all meaningful images.
  • Forms with associated labels, clear error states, and no reliance on color alone to convey meaning.
  • A responsive layout that supports 200% text zoom and reflow without loss of content or function.

Known limitations of this pilot

This is an early pilot site. A few things are still in progress:

  • Full independent WCAG 2.2 AA audit has not yet been performed by a third party — this statement reflects our design intent and internal review, not a certified audit.
  • Read-aloud audio for digital story editions is planned but not yet available.
  • Swedish-language content has been translated by the production team and is pending native-speaker review before public launch.
